Wonderful post Frank. I've often thought of the church as needing to have a clear centre (Jesus Christ) and a fuzzy edge. Your questioning the very need for an edge at all is an enquiry well worth persuing. The remainder of your post reminded me of something Helmut Thielicke once said, ‘There is no wilderness so desolate in our life that Jesus Christ will not and cannot encounter us there…. There is no depth in which this Saviour will not become our brother…. He comes for us wherever we are…. For that is his majesty.’ Thanks for blogging.
